The pineapple cultivation system employs intensive soil processing and plant care, utilizing various agricultural mechanization tools. In the long term, this can reduce soil fertility, such as soil compaction and decreased soil ability to absorb water. This study compares soil infiltration rates in ratoon crop (RC) pineapple plantations and cassava plantations during harvest. This study was conducted at the PT. Great Giant Pineapple plantation, Central Lampung, and the Soil Science Laboratory of the University of Lampung from October to December 2023, using a survey method. Soil sampling was carried out using the purposive sampling method on cassava fields harvested at 12 months and ratoon crop (RC) pineapple fields at 5 months, by determining soil sample points diagonally at 3 points. Infiltration observations using a mini disk infiltrometer. The results showed that land with RC pineapple plantations and cassava land had the same texture, namely, sandy clay loam. The soil infiltration rate in cassava land during harvest was higher, which was 24%, compared to RC pineapple plantations. However, the difference in soil infiltration rate (Ks) between the two types of vegetation did not show a statistically significant effect. The soil infiltration value (Ks) in RC pineapple land was 0.75 cm/hour, while in cassava at harvest time it was 0.92 cm/hour. Both values are included in the category of “rather fast” soil infiltration rate.
